In a recent announcement by the Department for Work and Pensions, Birmingham based Pertemps People Development Group have been selected as a preferred provider in the effort to tackle long-term unemployment.
Contracts to deliver Flexible New Deal, bringing a number of key welfare to work initiatives under one umbrella, have been awarded presenting the business with an opportunity to expand its services into new geographical areas. Having built an exceptional reputation for successfully tackling unemployment and social exclusion over the past decade, the company welcomes the exciting challenges that lie ahead.
Commenting on the results CEO Colin Birchall said: “We have been handed a fantastic opportunity going forward to develop new partnerships to help even more people find work. It will enable us to expand our customer base and facilitate fundamental capacity building through engagement with employers, partners and a range of community organisations. Our exemplary record of placing people into employment and creating productive partnerships will continue to be the driving force as we build for the future.”
Existing provision in Birmingham and Solihull, the Tees Valley, Liverpool and across Hereford and Worcestershire have enabled in excess of 100,000 job seekers to secure sustainable employment since January 2001. The new contract will focus on the five counties surrounding the organisation’s central heartland and includes: Coventry and Warwickshire, Hereford and Worcestershire and Staffordshire. In addition, the company will also partner Dudley MBC in the delivery of the Black Country Future Skills contract.
